The Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Engagement, Marketing, and Ticketing oversees the operational and strategic aspects for ticketing, merchandise sales, marketing, and fan engagement for the Intercollegiate Athletics department. Develops and implements sales strategies and campaigns to meet and increase revenue goals for ticketing. Actively solicits new and returning ticket holders. Execute marketing and promotion strategies in an effort to enhance the brand of the ICA department, generate revenue, maximize attendance at all sporting events, and promote a positive fan experience. Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives for all sports to engage the Athletics fan base on campus and in the community. Coordinate efforts with the ticket office to maximize ticket sales and drive revenue for the athletic programs. Develop and execute in-game and event promotions and recognition related to sponsorships and other applicable programming. Serve as liaison between UCSB student groups / organizations (such as Dance, Cheer, Pep Band and the Athletics Department. Attend ticketed home sports events. Must be knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with NCAA, Big West Conference, MPFS and University rules, policies and regulations as applicable to the performance of this position.
Required Qualifications
Demonstrates good judgment in making decisions and managing events.
Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
Skills in public relations writing, social media management, content design, networking and media relations.
Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines.
Demonstrated responsibility for budgeting and cash handling.
Excellent people engagement skills.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including knowledge of principles and practices of recruitment, supervision, motivation and evaluation.
Knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies, and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead and organize events and programs.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field
Work Experience
1-3 years Experience in collegiate sales, marketing, ticketing
1-3 years Experience in collegiate in game promotions and/or fan engagment
Preferred Qualifications
4-6 years Collegiate marketing and fan engagement experience
