Responsibilities:
Create, post and manage content on corporate website, intranet, social media platforms and a social business platform
Align content for a broad range of media, websites, enterprise e-newsletter, video, social media, and other projects as assigned
Design, update, and maintain web pages, social media, and email templates
Manage print production, photography, video editing, and working with outside vendors under the direction of the supervisor
Consult, plan, design, and create graphics that support the brand and communicate information through digital and traditional materials including EnergyUnited’s e-newsletter, print materials, webpages, collateral, magazines, logos, save-the-dates and invitations, website and social advertising, digital banners, PowerPoint presentations, programs, agendas, surveys, and other materials as needed
Design, proof and deploy the organization’s weekly enterprise e-newsletter
Use stories, photographs, videos, graphics/ graphic designs, and other tools to advance EU goals in a creative and socially engaging manner
Create materials for social media to educate member about topics related to member satisfaction, safety, weather, energy efficiency, web support and other related topics
Manage EU social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn)
Research latest energy tips, industry trends, ways to save, and monthly highlights related to industry for social media & website.
Maintain and monitor social media platforms utilizing social media tools (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc.) and responds to inquiries using these tools.
Provide routine updates to EU program staff on active projects regarding progress, challenges, and successes
Use video production skills to assist with EU communication activities associated with video messages for internal leadership
Serve as in-house EU photographer for all relevant events in service area
Update and maintain EU websites in partnership with third party ad agency
Monitor, interpret and report on web analytics and social media reports
Responsible for maintaining and creation of email campaigns
Create emails for member updates related to storms and other EU initiatives.
Collaborate with EU team members on behalf of corporate communications to create and communicate a digital newsletter weekly for employees to stay connected and engaged.
Support internal photography and videography needs for EU team members as requested
Internal support for any graphic, design content needs.
Creates slides for social media, the website, and e-mail communications on a regular basis.
Serve as a member of the Data Review & Implementation Team, providing social media and website updates for quarterly reports
Develop and execute web-related projects
Write original copy of web, social media postings, and related marketing pieces, optimized for web readability, reading level, audience and search engines.
Collaborate on web communication strategies and solutions related to digital marketing and public relations.
Analyze social media performance data and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results
Serve as a member of the crisis communications team, including updating, responding, and monitoring the social media channels and website
Stay up to date on the latest social media best practices, platform updates, and emerging trends
Must be available to develop social media content and respond to inquiries during major storms.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
Proficiency with web platforms such as WordPress
Must be able to work with very little supervision and be proactive in responsibilities.
Possess superior ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing with attention to detail.
Possess exceptional ability to communicate in both verbal and written form.
Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record.
Performs all assignments safely assuring compliance with all Safety related rules, regulations, and policies.
Bachelors’ degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field from an accredited school. Directly related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Three (3) years of experience in communications or website design and internet publishing experience in corporate communications, public relations/advertising agency or related environment
Three (3) years of experience of significant involvement in the use of social media preferably at a fast-paced agency or in an in-house creative setting.
Previous experience using a Content Management System as well as social media knowledge and corporate experience with Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram required.
Must have excellent working knowledge in the use of Windows, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, Microsoft Word, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Power Point. Must have knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Should possess working knowledge of principles and processes for providing member/customer and personal services. This includes member/customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of member/customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience developing and managing content for digital communications and social media platforms
Basic understanding of integrated marketing communications
Experience copywriting for digital media Basic photography and videography skills
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative suite
About the Position:
Normal working conditions and hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. or other hours as agreed upon with approval of manager.
Some irregular working hours for special meetings or circumstances may be required.
Must be available for work during adverse weather conditions or large outages.
Will be responsible for posting on social media during large storms/outages, which could include early morning and evening hours.
This position is categorized as Hybrid, which is a work arrangement that allows an employee to perform work and duties associated with this position at both an EnergyUnited Office location and their home.
This position is classified as a Non-Direct Operational Position. All employees assigned to headquarters or non-direct operational positions must make their domicile within one of the nineteen counties served by the Cooperative or within a 40 (forty) road mile radius to any EnergyUnited EMC office.
This position is exempt as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act as amended.
