POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director, Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Digital Philanthropy is responsible for developing and implementing robust digital marketing and solicitation strategies focused on donor acquisition and retention to realize sustainable growth in donor count, broaden the base of support, strengthen the major gifts pipeline, and provide progressively increased annual operational support for Pomona College.
The Associate Director, Digital Philanthropy is a key member of the Annual Giving team. This work is accomplished in collaboration with Advancement division colleagues, Office of Communications, as well as other colleagues across the College. The Associate Director will create and implement all digital elements (e.g., web, social media, email, text, video, crowdfunding) of a comprehensive appeal strategy in coordination with the Director, Annual Giving as part of the College’s annual fundraising, and in preparation for the most aspirational, comprehensive capital campaign in the history of the College.
The Associate Director, Digital Philanthropy will work in partnership with other relationship builders throughout the College and the Advancement Division to coordinate online solicitation, engagement and stewardship efforts, notably the social media lead and other key staff within Advancement Communications and Events; Advancement Services; Alumni and Family Engagement; Principal Gifts, Major Gifts, Leadership Annual Giving; and data and administrative staff within the Office of Annual Giving. This position may be responsible for hiring, processing personnel paperwork for, and in some cases directly supervising one or more student employees in the Office of Annual Giving.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, a liberal arts field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required. Licenses/Certificates: A valid driver’s license or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events is required.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of direct response fundraising and marketing experience with increasing responsibility in the implementation of digital fundraising and communications is required. Two years of experience at an academic institution is preferred.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Weekend and evening work may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division. Hybrid schedule is available.
ANNUAL SALARY: The annual salary for this role is between $85,000 and $91,000 with a competitive benefits package. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
