The Brand Communications Manager oversees daily operations of the Brand Communications Department and leads the tactical implementation of the Marketing Communication plans. This individual employs broad organizational influence to coordinate cross-functional teams and resources in support of promotional campaigns, member events, and new product launches. The Brand Communications Manager provides leadership and direction for Brand Communications staff, including direct supervision of the Marketing Design Specialist, Digital Marketing Specialist, and the Direct Marketing Specialist.
Position Description
Monitors use of HUECU brand across all communication channels ensuring consistent adherence to image guidelines.
Supervises the daily activities of the Marketing Design Specialist, Digital Marketing Specialist, and Direct Marketing Specialist. Manages the development of direct reports through performance reporting, evaluation and review.
Works with the AVP of Marketing in the planning of the Brand Communications department's overall strategy, including leading the development of the annual Marketing plan and budget, as well as individual campaigns.
Manages;
relationships with key third-party vendors for design and branding, advertising, printing and production, and marketing strategy.
the ongoing implementation of all tactical aspects of the annual marketing plan.
and tracks marketing budget, ensuring timely payment of invoices and appropriate resource allocation according to annual budget plan.
a variety of third-party service providers including graphic designers, copywriters, proofreaders, and printers.
electronic member communications, including email marketing programs and the eNewsletter.
in-house mailing programs.
Implements and manages the online presence of HUECU across company websites and social media platforms, including content management and communication plans.
Represents the Brand Communications department at monthly manager meetings.
Leads cross-functional teams for specific projects as needed.
Researches opportunities and implements initiatives to leverage new advertising and communication opportunities.
Obtains bids and evaluates pricing for various projects and services.
Plans materials for advertising, public relations and member education such as direct mail, newsletters, flyers and the annual report; including copy preparation, production and distribution.
Measures results of marketing initiatives using data collected from various sources.
Prepares monthly and quarterly reports on core product production and other key strategic metrics.
Oversees receipt and routing of Brand Communications requests, delegating tasks to ensure timely action.
Frequent copywriting for advertising and member communication pieces.
Performs various other duties as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications are the minimum threshold a candidate must meet to be considered for this role.
Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of one year supervisory experience required.
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a marketing or directly related role.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Experience within the financial services industry highly desired.
Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite software.
High comfort level with social networking, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Copywriting and proofreading/editing experience.
The ability to work as part of a team.
Must be willing to work in the very diverse environment of Harvard University and affiliate organizations.

The majority of jobs at HUECU are hybrid remote/office. During the initial 90-day training period, new employees may be expected to work in the office more frequently, up to full-time.
