Indiana University is seeking a Marketing Strategist to support Licensing and Trademarks, and Corporate Sponsorships within University Communications and Marketing. This is an opportunity for a marketing strategist to establish and successfully execute multi-faceted marketing and communications strategies to advance the university's success.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Serves as a member of the marketing strategy team and working closely with the Licensing and Trademarks, and Corporate Sponsorship team.
Develops and implements strategic plans focused on driving revenue through retail promotion and maximizing the university's existing corporate sponsorships activations and promotions.
Develops and activates marketing plans with a digital emphasis, creating messaging for specific target audiences, over-seeing the creation of campaign assets, and reporting on campaign success.
Works may involve multiple consecutive projects and collaboration with other departments, employees, university stakeholders and vendors.
Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies to support licensing and trademarks, and corporate sponsorship programs including, development of project timelines, sourcing of promotional materials and marketing content creation.
Develops marketing campaigns to promote licensed merchandise and enhance brand visibility.
Monitors market trends and industry developments to identify appropriate opportunities to advance the University’s retail presence.
Possesses and demonstrates the ability to support the creation of compelling sponsorship proposals and presentations to attract and retain corporate partners.
Supports sponsorship activation plans, ensuring alignment with both sponsor and university goals.
Works cross-functionally within a matrixed organization including communications, content strategy, design, media, social media, and web.
Utilizes digital marketing tools and platforms to enhance campaign reach and effectiveness.
Measures and reports on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Responds to inquiries, requests from stakeholders, and explains information regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and acts as a collaborative resource in curating marketing plans to relevant initiatives, groups, events, and programs.
Regularly research relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty, including information on various marketing channels (print, online, electronic, e-mail, social media, and direct mail).
May participate in team-based marketing planning to align strategies and deadlines across various concurrent projects and initiatives.
Collaborates with users of various software programs and creative platforms to create and deliver content and marketing materials in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.

Regularly researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty, including information on various marketing channels (print, online, electronic, email, social media, and direct mail).
May participate in team-based marketing planning to align strategies and deadlines across various concurrent projects and initiatives.
Collaborates with users of various software programs and creative platforms to create and deliver content and marketing materials in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.
May provide guidance to lower-level Marketing Generalists.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
2 years in relevant field
Preferred
3 years of experience with strong knowledge and experience in marketing and communications principles and strategy
Experience in creating and successfully implementing marketing and communications plans, especially content strategy and digital plans that drive revenue
Experience in brand-building initiatives, including creating highly engaging digital paid media experiences
Background in multi-marketing with strong communications and brand strategy experience
Experience with paid social media campaigns

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
