Western Carolina University (WCU) seeks a dynamic and experienced Marketing Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team. The Marketing Manager will be crucial in developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance the university's brand and drive engagement. This position will oversee the Social Media Coordinator, assist in managing paid media plans, write compelling marketing copy, and lead data-driven decision-making processes.
The marketing team at WCU plays a pivotal role in promoting the university's events, programs, and initiatives across campus and beyond. They collaborate with various departments, student organizations, and external partners to ensure a cohesive and impactful marketing strategy. As a marketing manager, a candidate must demonstrate a strong work ethic, including excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication are also essential to successfully lead the team and achieve the university's marketing goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this Position:
Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor the Social Media Coordinator, ensuring alignment with overall marketing strategies and goals.
Paid Media Management: Assist in planning, executing, and optimizing paid media campaigns across various platforms.
Content Creation: Write engaging and persuasive marketing copy for various channels, including digital, print, and social media.
Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the university's programs, events, and initiatives.
Data Analysis: Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make informed decisions to improve performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications and other team members to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing efforts.
Brand Management: Maintain and enhance the university's brand identity through consistent messaging and visual elements.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling marketing copy.
Experience in managing paid media campaigns and social media platforms.
Proficiency in data analysis and the use of marketing analytics tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position: Minimum Qualifications:
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without requiring employment sponsorship for immigration purposes.
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
