Overview:
Telluride Mountain School, a unique independent school nestled in the San Juan mountains serving students Pre-K through 12th, is seeking a Director of Marketing, Communications, and Enrollment Management to join our team. This newly created position blends two key areas of responsibility—marketing and communications, as well as enrollment management—into a single, comprehensive role focused on promoting the school and growing its enrollment. The ideal candidate will be a creative and collaborative team member who is passionate about advancing the school’s mission, increasing visibility, and fostering a diverse and vibrant school community.
At Telluride Mountain School, we understand that success isn’t only measured by grades in the classroom. We challenge our students to explore their environment and seek out meaningful experiences outside--which is why you will often find us on the ski slopes, hiking the San Juans or exploring the world through our experiential education trips. We also recognize and embrace the importance of developing strong relationships among teachers and peers, and encourage our students to build lasting relationships that strengthen a collective sense of belonging. So, while academics are important here, we believe in a holistic approach to education--one that involves fostering creativity, curiosity, and meaningful connections.
Key Responsibilities:

Brand Development & Messaging: Lead the development, refinement, and stewardship of the school’s brand, ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. Act as the brand ambassador for the school to internal and external audiences.
Digital Marketing: Oversee the school’s digital marketing strategy, including social media, website content, email marketing, and paid advertising. Ensure digital efforts align with overall school goals and drive engagement.
Public Relations: Serve as the primary contact for media relations, proactively seeking out opportunities to highlight the school’s achievements, student and faculty accomplishments, and thought leadership.
Content Creation: Oversee the creation of compelling content for print and digital platforms (newsletters, brochures, annual reports, blog posts, video, etc.), working closely with school leadership, faculty, and students to tell the school’s story.
Internal Communications: Ensure consistent, transparent, and effective communication with faculty, staff, parents, and students through regular class updates, emails, and other internal channels.
Enrollment Management
Enrollment Strategy: Develop and implement strategic enrollment initiatives that align with the school’s mission, vision, and goals. This includes setting enrollment targets, implementing retention strategies, and tracking key metrics.
Prospective Family Engagement: Lead the admission process from initial inquiry to enrollment, ensuring a seamless, positive experience for prospective families. This includes managing information sessions, open houses, tours, and one-on-one family meetings.
Admissions Marketing: Work collaboratively with both the administrative and teaching teams to develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns aimed at attracting diverse, mission-aligned students.
Data & Reporting: Track and analyze enrollment data and trends and provide regular reports to senior leadership. Use data to inform decisions and optimize strategies for recruitment, retention, and engagement.
Community Building: Cultivate relationships with current families, alumni, and community partners to enhance the school’s visibility and reputation, and to support ongoing recruitment and retention efforts.
