As a member of the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) and Center for Cultural and Inclusive Excellence (CCIE) Unit, the Programming and Marketing Leadership Adviser is a student-funded position providing direct support to campus community programming and student leaders? growth and development within extra-curricular experiences and communities. The Leadership Adviser participates in the collective planning, implementation, and advising of student leadership experiences.
The Leadership Adviser works to support student leadership development through advising campus events, supervising the Marketing Outreach Design Team (MOD), supporting systems of inclusive and accessible marketing, outreach, and promotion of student-funded events, developing and implementing leadership program curriculum, and supporting student leader success. This position reports to the Director of the Center for Leadership and Service.
This position is a salaried overtime-eligible, at-will, full-time position. Hours of work may include evening, weekend and occasional travel.
Reporting directly to the Director for the Center for Leadership & Service, this position will:
Campus Programming and Leadership Development
Plan and lead inclusive and accessible campus events, demonstrating skill in the development, implementation, and evaluation of campus programming offerings;
Empower students towards campus communities and leadership experiences;
Collaborate with the unit leadership programming team, providing robust leadership development programs to the Highline College student community;
Create appropriate, culturally responsive, and needed leadership training curricula to support the growth and development of students and communities;
Model and promote the concepts of servant leadership, social justice, inclusion, and our unit?s leadership pillars;
Coordinate paperwork for programs for room reservations, catering, supplies, and student travel. This position works closely with the Conference Services and Catering, Purchasing, and Travel Departments;
Provide budget oversight and record-keeping for all designated department programs.
Marketing
Develops inclusive and accessible marketing to empower and advance our students? success;
Strategize and keep up-to-date on innovative practices in inclusive and accessible branding, graphic design, social media, communications, and marketing management;
Collaborate, provide training to students and campus partners on inclusive marketing practices, and evaluate for continuous improvement;
Serve as website coordinator for CLS;
Serve over 60+ student-funded programs with design and marketing support, including but not limited to: printed materials, web graphics, e-banners, and social media releases.
Student Supervision
Supervise and advise the Marketing Outreach Design Team, comprised of 3 paid student leaders;
Provide development and continuous training to the MOD team, which provides direct consultation and marketing services to campus student leaders and campus partners.
Unit Collaboration
Support other duties as assigned to support the offerings of the CLS and CCIE work units.
Participate in Weekly Meetings
Department and Unit meetings;
Represent the department in campus committees as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s degree; AND
One academic year (two semesters or three quarters) of related part-time undergraduate student involvement or leadership experience coordinating programming and marketing in a college setting, human services, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to provide direct supervision and coaching; AND
Basic Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
OR
Associates Degree and a minimum of three years experience coordinating programs in a college setting, human services, or a related field; AND
Experience planning and conducting trainings and workshops; AND
Demonstrated ability to provide direct supervision and coaching; AND
Basic Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master?s degree in student development or related field of study;
Experience with program and event planning;
Experience and knowledge in how to design accessible and inclusive marketing.
