General Requirements:
Associates degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Advertising, Film & TV Production, or a related field. Three years of experience in writing, marketing, social media, public relations, or experience in a related field. Knowledge of AP Style guidelines and experience in a higher education environment is preferable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Advances the College of Science and Engineering Technology (COSET) through brand/image promotion, marketing campaigns and events, effective communication, and collaboration with the university's Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) team.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Strategically markets and promotes the College of Science and Engineering Technology (COSET) to the entire Bearkat community through various outreach methods, including newsletters, events, publications, awards, advertisements, web design, social media, and mass email. Coordinates and oversees marketing and promotional requests made within the college, acting as liaison between COSET departments and Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) through Asana software. Ensures compliance of all college publications, imagery, branding, and content with IMC guidelines as part of brand management. Collaborates with IMC and executes web updates and designs. Coordinates college level communication to the university and local communities. Ensures critical information is shared in a timely manner, including university closures and community emergencies. Event planning including college and university- wide engagement programs and campus visitors, such as speakers, alumni, and industry partners. Details include, but not limited to, communication, room reservations, marketing, logistics, and catering. Coordinate student leadership program, COSET Ambassadors, at special events, such as football tailgating, Saturdays@Sam, Preview@Sam, Orientation and Welcome Week, First-Gen Celebrations, College Fall Meeting, and Newton Gresham Library Resource Fair. Interacts and maintains working relationships with partners, stakeholders, and students in facilitating program objectives. Performs other related duties as assigned.
