The Lexington School is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead and implement a comprehensive plan that advances the school’s mission and strategic priorities. This individual will oversee all internal and external communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the school’s values and goals.
Reporting to the Head of School and working in close partnership with the Admission and Development teams, the Director will play a key role in telling The Lexington School’s story to a wide range of constituents and the broader community.
The Salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Develop and implement an annual, integrated marketing and communication plans that ensure consistent, timely, and strategic messaging for internal and external audiences.
Partner with the Head of School, Admissions, and Development teams to support and advance institutional goals through strategic marketing and communication initiatives.
Act as the school’s lead brand ambassador, ensuring all communications reflect and reinforce the mission, vision, and values of The Lexington School.
Oversee all aspects of the school’s digital presence, including website strategy and content, email communications, and social media to maximize engagement and visibility.
Manage photography, videography, working with freelance vendors or coordinating in-house production, to capture and showcase life at The Lexington School.
Guide and maintain editorial standards and voice across platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, and messaging.
Monitor analytics and performance metrics to inform strategy and improve reach and effectiveness.
Support school events with promotional strategies and on-the-ground coverage.
Manage a comprehensive crisis communication plan in partnership with school leadership, ensuring preparedness and clarity during emergency situations or sensitive issues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional school environment, both indoors and outdoors.
Essential Physical Requirements, such as standing or sitting for long periods of time, typing, climbing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, up to fifty (50) pounds maximum.
Occasional evenings and weekend work will be required.
Emergency staff designations, such as leading or directing students during emergency drills and real emergency events may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, web design or related field preferred.
A minimum of three years of professional experience in communications, marketing or a related field is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck mindset- especially under pressure- is required.
Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills required.
High level of cultural competence and demonstrated commitment to working with individuals from diverse background is required.
