The Marketing Department within OIA at UMBC carries out functions related to strategic enrollment marketing, brand awareness, digital strategy and creative services. OIA Marketing works in partnership with undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as departments across campus to promote the UMBC experience and attract students.
Position Overview:
The Marketing Data Analyst supports and enables efficiency within marketing operations by conducting market research, interpreting market data, tracking outcomes of marketing initiatives against established KPIs and building reports and data visualization.
In addition to conducting data analysis, the Marketing Data Analyst works closely with the enrollment marketing team to identify opportunities to optimize campaigns and web traffic for greater return on investment. This position works extensively with analytics tools such as GA360, Salesforce Einstein and Marketing Cloud Datorama to provide actionable insights on marketing and program activity.

Produce meaningful marketing KPI dashboards and deliver timely, cross-channel performance reports with actionable insights
Implement tracking into various marketing initiatives using Google Tag Manager, session recording or other analytics tools
Conduct A/B testing of landing page and email design and content
Contribute to marketing content strategy by preparing and analyzing metrics across email and advertising campaigns and gathering information from target audiences and stakeholders
Create conversion optimization strategies, with the aim of improving digital marketing efforts and increasing return on marketing investment
Benchmark performance across all online channels and advise on KPIs based on performance analysis
Analyze online user behavior, conversion data, customer journeys, funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution
Report on key metrics, analyze and interpret trends and provide actionable insights based on available analytics data
Spot opportunities to try innovative new methodologies and improve the analytical procedure
Work daily with analytical software, including but not limited to Marketing Cloud Datorama, Salesforce Einstein Analytics, Google Adwords and Google Analytics.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Analytics or a related field
Two years of experience and expertise in marketing data analysis
Expert in leveraging marketing data analysis tools including Google Analytics (GA4)
Knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud
Project management and collaboration skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while adhering to deadlines
Knowledge of and experience with building reports and dashboards using tools such as Google Data Studio or Tableau
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Search Engine Optimization experience
A strong understanding of and experience in higher education market including lead generation/nurturing, recruitment/admissions and enrollment management
