The Department of Accounting, Taxation & Law at the Silberman College of Business at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey is accepting applications for a LECTURER in TAXATION.
The department offers a BS in accounting, a combined BS/MS in accounting program (winner of the AAA's Innovation in Accounting Education Award), as well as an MS in accounting program for those without an undergraduate accounting background. We have one of the highest CPA passing rates in the state of New Jersey. In recent years, some of the highest scores on the NJ CPA licensing exam have been posted by our graduates.
The department's MS in Taxation program is renown and is one of the oldest programs in the state. It is now fully remote delivered synchronously online via Zoom. A great number of the program graduates have proceeded to scale the heights of corporate success as well have achieved partner status at many of the Big 4 accounting firms and other highly reputable accounting firms.
The department provides students with well-rounded, state-of-the- art education in the principles of accounting and taxation. We prepare our students for rewarding careers as professionals in the field of accounting and taxation. The department has around 450 students enrolled in its various programs.
The department consists of 4 tenured faculty, 4 tenure-track faculty and 1 non-tenure-track faculty, and a team of about 33 practice professionals serving as adjunct faculty. Silberman, with over 1,400 students at its New Jersey campuses and over 100 students on its Vancouver campus, offers AACSB-accredited undergraduate and graduate programs, and partners with the New Jersey, New York City community, and Vancouver business communities to deliver globally oriented business education programs. The College is also home to nationally recognized Rothman Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Silberman offers seven degree programs: Bachelor of Science (BS); Master of Business Administration (MBA); Master of Business Administration – Management for Executives (EMBA); Master of Science – Accounting (MS-Acct); Master of Science – Taxation (MS-Tax); Master of Science – Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM), and Master of Science – Digital Marketing (MS-DM).

The load for lecturers varies from 9 to 12 credits per semester depending on faculty qualification status for AACSB. Salary and benefits are competitive with AACSB accredited institutions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and for the welfare of students by preparing them for success in a multicultural business environment. Duties will be comprised of a balance of teaching, service, and helping grow the program, including the following:
Teaching taxation courses in our online MS in Taxation program.
Teaching taxation courses at the bachelor's and master's level accounting programs on the New Jersey campuses and off-site locations (in face-to- face, online, and/or blended/hybrid modalities).
Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students to assist with professional development and career goals.
Participating in departmental, college and university service, and service to the discipline.
Engaging in various activities to help grow enrollments in the MS in Taxation program.
Pursuing and collaborating is some productive research in taxation would be a plus but is not essential.
Minimum Required Qualifications
An LLM degree in Taxation, or a JD & (CPA or MST), or graduate degree & very high-level position attained in the profession, or some equivalent, and in all cases with evidence of a potential for high quality teaching.
A professional license or certification, such as CPA, CMA, CFP, or similar.
Relevant and significant professional work experience.
Degree completed by the start of the appointment.
Appropriate faculty qualification under AACSB standards.

If teaching, evidence of teaching effectiveness,
Copies of representative scholarly works, or evidence of work in progress, if any.
A statement of scholarly or professional achievements and/or goals.
