General Description:
The Content Writer is responsible for the writing, managing, and development of publications for the College and the executive staff including the President's Report, press releases, the Annual Report, newsletters, and a variety of other college publications and advertisements. Support in the development of marketing strategies and corresponding campaign with a heavy focus on digital marketing tactics. Coordinate with and support external marketing agency/vendors as needed. Provide assistance to the Executive Director with all major events, such as ribbon-cutting/dedication ceremonies, by overseeing details related to the special events, including the coordination of vendors including photography, catering, and facilities layout. Provide departmental support as needed related to purchasing items, billing, entering requisitions, and work orders.
The goal of the College Relations Department is to enhance the image of the College, both internally and externally. This department support the College's marketing, public relations, corporate communications, and special-event's needs. This area is responsible for general advertising, internal and external publications, media relations, government relations, maintaining the College's image and branding, and the main social media accounts. The department meets the needs of the College as it pertains to design and creative projects as well as the production of print materials, from academic classroom materials, marketing related materials/mailings, to posters/signage, through the College's Print Shop.
Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates engaging written content as needed (with support as needed from the Manager of Creative Services and in collaboration with Marketing & Communications Coordinator)
Provides editorial and copywriting for College publications including, but not limited to, newsletters, the Annual Report, brochures, flyers, advertisements, the website, and social media platforms.
Researches, writes, and distributes press releases with supporting photography to local media and national community college publications when appropriate.
Provides writing and editorial support to the Executive Director of College Relations.
Supports the development and execution of marketing campaigns, and tactics, both the creative concepts and the execution of a marketing strategy with a heavy focus on digital tactics.
Serves as support for high profile events on campus under the direction of the Executive Director of College Relations. Coordinates both internal and external needs for events including submitting work orders for space set up to Facilities, catering, photographers, etc.
Attends events across the College's campuses to be informed as to happenings for the purpose of content for newsletters, social media, and press releases. Develops a connection to key constituencies at the College to be
