Under minimal supervision, and reporting to the Associate AD - Creative Services & Broadcasting, the Marketing Associate assists with the visual and digital branding and storytelling efforts for the UIC Department of Athletics and assists in supporting the creative needs of the entire department, including athletic communications, marketing, development, ticketing, and academic units. The role will also assist in the graphic design efforts for all 18 varsity programs and athletics fields and facilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with athletic communications, marketing and additional external and internal departments on graphic and promotional content including programs, posters, signage, and social media assets.
Continually assists with developing the strategy and goals of UIC's graphics efforts to enhance the Flames' brand both in the city of Chicago and nationally. Meet deadlines in an efficient manner.
Work within established brand guidelines to create content that is both creative, yet consistent throughout the Department of Athletics to help promote and market UIC's athletic programs
Creates and helps manage templates to be used on social media by various external departments and athletic programs
Works alongside Associate AD - Creative Services & Broadcasting regarding the cost estimates from printing/ reproduction vendors, for approval and assists with the dissemination of marketing materials across various channels.
Assists as a point of contact for UIC's logos, design elements and other Flames branding-related assets. Consults and assists printers and typographers to ensure successful and timely completion of publicity designs.
Assist with the archiving and logging of creative and marketing assets including but not limited to photos, videos, and graphics. Helps to oversee marketing and creative equipment (camera, tripod, banners, lights and other promotional items)
Stay up to date on current graphic design, creative and social media trends.
Perform Game Day and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.
Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
