The Master of Communication Management (MCM) program at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California, is seeking a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to enhance the instruction provided by our full-time faculty. Specifically, this position will involve teaching CMGT-599: Strategic Marketing Communication for Hospitality and Tourism.
This course combines theoretical frameworks with practical applications to explore marketing communication strategies within the hospitality and tourism industries. Topics include promotion, advertising, social media, experiential and event marketing, and analysis of real-world case studies. Students will delve into key sectors such as luxury and budget travel, hotels, retail, niche markets, and emerging global audiences. The course aims to equip students with a deeper understanding of how effective communication strategies can foster customer loyalty, drive innovation, and adapt to the ever-changing expectations of consumers.
Ideal candidates will possess significant professional experience in marketing communication within hospitality, tourism, or related industries. Prior teaching experience in marketing communication, strategic communication, organizational communication, or similar applied communication fields is highly desirable. Additionally, graduate-level coursework or advanced academic training in these areas is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: A Bachelors in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or related fields.
Minimum Experience: 15 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: A Master or PhD in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Management or related fields.
Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Work experience in related positions at national or global agencies or Fortune-500 tier companies.
The hourly range for this position is $$37.88 - $46.97. USC reserves the Adjunct appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
