Boston University's College of Communication (COM) seeks a graphic designer to help share our story with the world through compelling visuals and smart strategy. The graphic designer will be responsible for:
Designing print and digital collateral, including printed posters, website and social media graphics, event programs, email newsletters, digital displays, signage, brochures, presentation decks, advertisements and reports.
Contributing to strategic discussions in marketing the college and its programs.
Enforcing University and college brand guidelines.
Managing vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and price estimates.
Shaping the physical appearance of public spaces at the college, in partnership with technology and facilities departments.
Training and directing part-time student designers.
The graphic designer should bring these qualifications to the job:
Portfolio is required.
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
1 to 3 years of professional experience in graphic design.
Strong communication skills.
Knowledge of web management and publications
Working knowledge of CSS/HTML.
Developed sense of design and aesthetics.
Experience working with printers and other vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects, teams and deadlines simultaneously.
Knowledge of project management software such as Asana or Basecamp.
Comfort with, and willingness to explore, new tools and technology.

The graphic designer works as part of a five-person marketing and communications team within the college, and directs one to two student designers.
