We are seeking a Communications Specialist. This role sits at the nexus of digital marketing, creative content generation, and functional information-sharing and will bring each of these functions to life on one of CTYs most powerful communication toolsour flagship website. The Web Producer will write, coordinate, manage, and update content on a high-traffic, public-facing website. They will be responsible for keeping all website content consistent with our brand and style guidelines, and develop strategies to ensure that content is accurate, fresh, accessible, and dynamic. They will also work with IT staff to troubleshoot technical issues. This position requires a blend of editorial skills (writing, editing, and proofreading) and technical know-how, including comfort with content management systems.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Create, update and maintain web content/assets, monitor content on live site and troubleshoot or escalate issues.
Write and edit accurate, engaging, and accessible web content and generate new content initiatives.
Be proactive in improving web site accuracy, functionality, accessibility, style, and need for updates.
Contribute to content creation efforts including creating Bitly links and custom vanity URLs and writing blog posts.
Author and design landing pages for web marketing.
Maintain and suggest improvements for web governance structure and update web style guide.
Ensure site content follows SEO and accessibility best practices and complies with brand voice and style guidelines.
Provide basic digital graphic art support using Photoshop, Canva, or similar software.
Monitor Google Analytics and provide monthly reports on key web site metrics; collaborate with digital and email marketing staff and vendors to track campaigns and activities.
Regularly monitor content on web site using Site improve site crawls to check for broken links and misspellings and monitor content quality.
Communicate with content owners and stakeholders about web content requests, make recommendations for content, and ensure all projects are aligned with strategic goals.
Establish and adhere to schedules and project plans for content generation and production.
Work with managers, IT staff, and vendors to execute online initiatives and troubleshoot any technical or other issues that arise.
Be cross trained on different systems used by marketing and communications department including CRM, email marketing, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field.
Two years related experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of related experience.
Superb writing and editing skills.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, content management systems (Drupal preferred), accessibility, and web publishing procedures.
Knowledge of Adobe platforms, Canva, and demonstrated design and graphics experience.
Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and across departments.
Special Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Experience with content management systems, Drupal preferred.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, , accessibility, and website governance.
Basic graphic design and photo editing skills, experience using Photoshop and Canva.
Superb writing and editing skills.
Working knowledge of SEO.

Physical Requirements
Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse pad and other office machinery.
The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly online and in person with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these settings.
Position also requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment; bending, kneeling or standing during events and presentations may be required.
