Overview
Marketing Managerreports to David Geffen School of Drama at Yale/Yale Repertory Theatre (DGSD/YRT) Director of Marketing & Communications, including day-to-day direction from the Senior Associate Director of Marketing & Communications. Develops strategies and plans for: integrated social media and electronic marketing campaigns for DGSD/YRT, YRT audience development, and single ticket campaigns for DGSD.
Essential Duties 1.Develops and implements overarching social media plans for YRT and DGSD. 2.Oversees the YRT and DGSD email communications portfolio, including development and governance of templates, and supervises the design and deployment of email marketing and related outreach. Ensures alignment with brand standards and overall creative direction. Supervises testing and quality assurance to maintain consistency, accessibility, and production quality. 3.Under supervision of Director of Marketing & Communications oversees, develops, and executes institutional and individual production marketing and audience development strategies, plans, and analytics to aggressively advance DGSD/YRT’s mission, reaching its strategic marketing and communications goals and objectives. 4.Develops strategies and plan for single ticket campaigns for DGSD. 5.Develops overarching strategies pertaining to DGSD productions and YRT subscriptions campaign. 6.Provide editorial support for department, including copy writing, editing, proofreading. 7.Develops overarching marketing strategies pertaining to DGSD productions and initiatives and manages DGSD Single Ticket expense and revenue budgets. 8.Builds and maintains relationships with Yale and New Haven community organizations and groups; manages and hosts YRT audience development and audience engagement events, on and off site. Manages and oversees opening night parties for the Yale Rep shows and other special events. 9.Develops, manages, and maintains the DGSD/YRT media library. Includes identifying people and productions in the photos, tagging and updating metadata, archiving, and uploading and testing the libraries in various viewers. Along with Web Services, determines future needs and applications for the media library. Also maintains the process manual and trains students to use the systems. 10.Maintains DGSD professional names list and electronic biography files for all students, faculty, and staff for programs and other various purposes in the department and throughout the institution. 11.In the absence of Publications Manager, covers all aspects of that portfolio. 12.Mentors and trains students. Provide feedback on students’ performance to appropriate supervisors. 13. And other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing & Communications.

Preferred Education & Experience
Tessitura experience. Degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Theater Management, or Arts Administration.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Primarily manages staff responsible for development, implementation, and management of a proactive and comprehensive program of media/public relations that generates press and publicity. 2. Manages the development of highly effective promotional and marketing tools and strategies. 3. Develops and coordinates promotional opportunities; works in close collaboration with department; defines and prioritizes target audiences. 4. Develops short-term and long-term communication goals; devises and conducts evaluation; monitors strategy for marketing initiatives; formulates and manages a marketing budget. 5. Coordinates input into marketing planning and execution processes from key constituencies within the unit and the University. 6. Plans, creates and places advertising, promotions, brochures, and other communications; develops messaging briefs and a pitches process protocol. 7. Conceives and manages website. Manages PR functions. 8. Creates and executes new media plans to reach target audiences. 9. Plans and executes ongoing marketing research to understand audiences and evaluates the success of marketing and branding programs. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum requirement of Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
