Position Overview:
The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Marketing and Logistics, with an affiliation with the Center for Software Innovation (CSI). This position is contingent on funding and university approval. The successful candidate will play a central role in teaching and developing curriculum for the Elevate programs, a suite of educational initiatives sponsored by the CSI and the Fisher College of Business that prepare students to lead in technology-driven business environments.
We seek a dynamic, industry-experienced professional with deep expertise at the intersection of technology, software innovation, and business strategy. The ideal candidate will bring a strong professional background in the technology sector and a passion for education. Experience in teaching, curriculum design, or pedagogy development is valued but not required. Courses are taught in person on the Universitys main campus in Columbus, Ohio.
Performance Objectives:
Teach a minimum of seven course sections per academic year within the Elevate and Marketing programs, covering topics such as technology commercialization, product management, product marketing, software-driven business models, digital marketing, and/or innovation strategy.
Support curriculum and syllabus design for Elevate program offerings, ensuring alignment with industry trends and the strategic vision of the Center for Software Innovation.
Develop and deliver innovative course content and materials that bridge academic rigor with practical, real-world technology leadership experience.
Collaborate with faculty across the Fisher College of Business and the College of Engineering, as well as CSI leadership and advisory boards, to advance interdisciplinary programming.
Build and maintain relationships with corporate and industry partners to support experiential learning, guest lectures, mentorship opportunities, and program fundraising.
Contribute to the strategic vision and planning of the Elevate programs and the CSIs broader educational mission.
Participate in service activities for the Department of Marketing and Logistics, the Fisher College of Business, and the university.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required:Masters degree or equivalent education and experience in business, technology management, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum of five years of professional experience in the technology sector, software industry, or a related technology-driven business environment. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to engage with industry professionals, corporate partners, and cross-functional academic teams.
Desired: Doctorate or terminal degree in business, technology management, or a related area. Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and/or pedagogical innovation at the university level or in professional education settings, with evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations, teaching awards, peer reviews). Experience in software product management, technology entrepreneurship, SaaS, or digital transformation. Prior involvement in program development, accreditation processes, or academic leadership roles. Established network of technology industry relationships and demonstrated success in building corporate partnerships.
